This painting is simply celebrating some of the wonderful landscape along the West MacDonnell Ranges in the Northern Territory near Alice Springs.
In the outback it seems like the locals think it takes too long to say "we are going out to Ellery Creek Big Hole", so they just say 'going out to Ellery". I like this Aussie way of abbreviating everything, so it's the name of the painting.
Once again, the varied landscapes here have the dramatic backdrop of the West MacDonnell Ranges - the ranges display all kinds of colours depending on the weather and time of day. Here they are moody blues but dappled sunlight accentuates the colourful spinifex and the dotty stones that are everywhere. It really is a feast for the eyes driving around this country....
Your museum quality Giclee print will be rolled and shipped in a Mailing Tube free of charge in Australia and overseas - see more information in my FAQs.
Mailing tube shipping is by far the safest, most efficient and economical way to ship artwork - then when you receive it you can get a local framer to frame it exactly how you choose.
When you receive this artwork, it's best to simply have the work STRETCHED - it will look more contemporary than a frame added on because the side colour shows around the edge of the artwork giving it an already framed appearance.
At this stage, I'm not shipping this artwork stretched or framed due to its size. But if you do need it to be ready to hang, please just contact me and I'll give you a price to your destination.
I'm considering making paper prints available for this artwork. Please let me know if this interests you but note we do not frame paper prints either here or overseas due to the fragility of the glass in the frames. It's much safer for you to get it done locally.
