THE PINK LAKE

This is my newest panting - and one of my all-time favourites.  The pink algae characteristic of some salt lakes (warm temperature combined with very high salinity) is glowing faintly through many layers of transparent colour to create a translucent depth.

White salt against glowing red sands is a favourite image of mine - so naturally, I’m very fond of the artwork. There is plenty of abstract detail up close and a striking eye catching design from a distance.
