This Landscape painting by Australian Outback artist Kate Owen, shows Australia's McDonnell Ranges, a little way from Alice Springs in Central Australia.
Kate says: "The backdrop to "The Alice" is a very distinct and iconic landscape, with a long, rugged and highly textured escarpment running for many kilometres from Alice Springs towards the West. The earth colours here are unbelievably rich, glowing, warm and strong, but the shadows are a divine and mysterious deep purple. I tried to capture these contrasts and the texture of all the rugged earth, spinifex and stones that characterise this country.
It's a great place for colour junkies like me because when the sun is out (which is very, very often), the whole length of the escarpment takes on an absolutely stunning orange glow during the late afternoons and evening. Even the locals are in awe of it!"
Your museum quality Giclee print will be rolled and shipped in a Mailing Tube free of charge in Australia and overseas - see more information in my FAQs.
Mailing tube shipping is by far the safest, most efficient and economical way to ship artwork - then when you receive it you can get a local framer to frame it exactly how you choose.
If you prefer to receive your artwork ready to hang on the wall, simply have the work STRETCHED - (the sides will be coloured or mirrored to match the print), and it looks very contemporary (this is my preferred way to hang artwork). Or if you prefer, you can add a FRAME in black, white or natural timber. Prices will adjust as you explore each option in the purchase section of this page.
The resulting price is then all you then have to pay as shipping within all but the most remote areas of Australia is included in the price.
If you would like it shipped overseas or to remote areas of Australia, please contact me directly at kate@kateowenart.com. Depending on the location, it may cost a little extra if the print is stretched or framed - but I try to keep all prices as low as possible.
Note: we do not frame paper prints either here or overseas due to the fragility of the glass in the frames. It's much safer for you to get it done locally.
These Giclee prints are produced on either high quality rag paper or Premium Chromata LYVE 450gsm Canvas, both Giclee prints using a 12 Colour pigment fine inkjet machine. Canvas prints are then 'varnished' with a protective low sheen product, which makes the colours 'pop'!
The artwork was first scanned in extremely high detail on a flatbed scanner. Each print is individually numbered and either signed, embossed with the authorised Kate Owen signature, or accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity - the scanned file will be destroyed when the limited edition of 50 copies World Wide is sold so that no further prints can be made. A Larger sized print of this artwork will be available soon. Meanwhile please enquire and one can be made for you.
